Main Story Image Spacer Image Low Cost Honeymoons

So you know that you want to get married, and now comes the best part: finding where to go for the honeymoon. This decision, although a fun one, can be very difficult. On the one hand you want to go somewhere that you can afford; possibly somewhere you haven’t been before as well as somewhere that you can relax.

Most people today can’t relax knowing that they are spending too much money and will be spending some time when they come back trying to replace that money. So where do you go? There are many honeymoon spots out there, and all of them have their different prices.

How much do you want to spend? This is the first step in planning your honeymoon. Once you have determined your budget, then you can start researching different locations and packages. Almost any budget can give you a nice hotel, airfare, and maybe even a rental car if needed.

What are some of the most romantic places for people on a budget? This depends on what you’re looking for. Some people like fun and sun, and if this is you then Florida, Las Vegas, Hawaii, New York City, San Francisco, and other places like that are recommended. These places are in the United States and will normally cost less then places outside of the US. The Bahamas, Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Costa Rica, Acapulco and other tropical places are a draw for those looking to visit somewhere outside of the United States.

What can you get for under $1000?

Those looking for an economical honeymoon but who feel that their choices are limited will be happy to know there are a lot of places out there within their budget. Lots of cruise lines have special rates starting at just $199 per person. Most of the time these cruises are for only a couple of nights, but adding a few extra days and nights will still get you under your $1000 budget. Cruises, just like any other type of travel, have their peak and off-peak times of the year, so it is advisable to travel during off-peak seasons such as January through March. In most cases you can sail for up to 7 nights during off-peak times for under $1000. This normally doesn’t include airfare, but some honeymoon packages may include this as an incentive to travel. Las Vegas is known for putting together honeymoons quickly and on short notice, so a Las Vegas honeymoon Suite can be a great cheap honeymoon. Some places offer a nice honeymoon package that includes cheap airfare, a cheap honeymoon, hotel, and maybe even some casino chips as an incentive to gamble. Some hotels also offer a honeymoon hotel suite at a cheap honeymoon rate, and extra nights are usually not as much.

What can you get for under $2500?

For those with a little more flexibility in their budget, it is recommended they take advantage of a longer cruise discount honeymoon. Most cruises that last longer then 7 days cost slightly more then $1000, but they offer free meals and stopovers at some of the best islands and cities in the world. Most cruises do not include airfare in their packages, but for those spending more money airfare can be included at a discounted honeymoon rate. Honeymooners in this price range can also look for discounted honeymoons in locations outside of the US. Careful planning can get honeymooners a nice honeymoon package in places like Cozumel, Antigua, and other places that offer up to 7 nights for about $2500. These packages are normally all-inclusive, meaning they include hotel and airfare. Most of the time, with any type of vacation, food is normally not included.

What can you get for under $5000?

With a $5000 budget, honeymooners can visit almost anywhere for a nice 7 day honeymoon. Those desiring a Disney honeymoon can do so with the piece of mind of knowing they are getting high-quality service for a decent price. A $5000 budget does not mean that the sky is the limit; however, it does give honeymooners a lot of options from staying inside the US to traveling to places like Aruba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and many other places. Cruises can be extended to almost 2 weeks or more within the budget, and cruises normally include meals, which most hotels don’t include.

Obviously, with careful planning, honeymooners can travel almost anywhere within almost any budget. The key is to travel during off-peak times when airfare and hotel costs are lower. It is always a good idea to shop around for quotes and prices on any type of travel. Honeymooners should also be careful to book honeymoon packages that don’t offer any type of substitution options or allow cancellations within 24 hours of traveling. Honeymoons are supposed to be fun and enjoyable so that the newlyweds can enjoy each other’s company, not a time where they are worried and stressed out due to the money they are spending.
